dragon markets
A colloquial name for those markets and economies in the Pacific basin that developed rapidly in the 1980s and early 1990s, notably Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. They enjoyed dynamic growth and high savings ratios until 1997, when the region suffered a severe financial and economic crisis.
